This brief has allowed me to experiment with many different mediums, and provided me with an opportunity once a day for two months to get a simple piece of design that is completely of my own choosing, and that I feel fits my current mood and daily experiences. This has been a really welcome brief to undertake with producing a lot of briefs for clients, it was great to have one brief which was purely self indulgent. This has helped me to discover my own style as a designer as well, which has helped to influence the work I have created for other briefs as well.
One thing that hasn't gone so well in this brief was the production of the Top Trumps, in that they didn’t line up correctly so they were off centred, which made them look untidy and not as professional as I was hoping for. This couldn’t of been helped though, and if I was to of gotten them printed professionally then this wouldn’t of been an issue, however as I printed them in college I didn’t have access to a printer which perfectly lines up the printing, and in a small card design such as these a few millimetres makes a huge difference.
I have been really pleased with my time management of this brief as I made sure I made time each day to create a character, whether this was a simple drawing or something more complex, I always found time in my day to do this, which was something I was worried about initially, that I would fall behind and find the characters I hadn’t done building up, so I was pleased I managed to keep it up for the full 2 months.
This is a brief I have thoroughly enjoyed doing, and provided me with a welcome break each day, allowing me to recollect my creativity and inject fresh passion into my other briefs.
