These are the final Chum Chums Top Trumps Cards. They were printed onto white card of a similar weight to existing Top Trumps cards, to ensure they were durable enough to withstand play, and so that they fit snugly into the plastic holder.
There was an issue with alignment whilst printing, in that the backs didn’t line up with the fronts (printer error as opposed to document error), resulting in there being quite a significant difference in weight of the grey outline on the character sides of the cards. This wouldn’t be an issue if these cards were being commercially printed as the printers would be professionally calibrated to result in really minimal misalignment.
Silver metallic vinyl was used over the Top Trumps on the special reverse of the ‘how to’ card, to create a reflective, higher quality finish, which will reflect in the light and attract consumers attention when walking by. This also create a subtle difference between the two sets of backs, so that you can identify the different types of card without them appearing too different from one another to cause confusion.
The characters were divided into four different families (animal, food, nature, and people) to create further interest, and to also lead to further games or conversation whilst playing.
