OUGD602 PPP - PERSONAL BRANDING - CONCEPT & EXPERIMENTATION

Level 5 Development
The concept for the Level 6 personal branding was developed from that of Level 5, as I felt this still accurately reflected myself as a designer.
The concept behind the Level 5 (and now 6) branding was to showcase my ability to design both using traditional, analogue techniques, and also clean, digital methods as well, highlighting my versatility and adaptability as a designer.
The main area that needed to be developed was the background pattern, as although the vibrant colours create a bold impact, the text isn’t very readable, which it needs to be to catch peoples attention and recognise whose personal branding this is.

Marbelling
Different coloured marbelling experiments were undertaken for the background pattern for the business cards. Marbelling was chosen as the medium for the background as I have really enjoyed using it in previous work, and feel you can have a lot of freedom with it, and can produce very different results using it depending on you method of application of the colour.
The text was added directly onto the marbelled paper using vinyl, the same as the previous years branding, and the glossy finish created a great contrast against the patterned marbelling, and it also shines in the light, which is great for catching people’s eyes.
Pink, red, blue and green were experimented in colour choices, as I was unsure which colour best reflected myself as a designer, and would allow the text to be the most readable.
