OUGD603 EXTENDED PRACTICE: EXTERNAL COLLABORATION, BRANDING BRIEF

Working with Lauren Simpson, a fashion student, I will be producing a logo and branding for her.

Deliverables:
- Logo
- Business cards
- A5 flyers
- Clothes tags
- Facebook banner image

On our first meeting, we discussed what she would like, her preferences, requirements, and any design opinions, for example colours.

- Branding should be mainly based off her COP3 work
- Minimalist style with added detail
- Branding for herself
- One dominant colour, then tones of others
- Colours: blue, PINK, white, lilac
- Type in black
- Feminine scripted type
- Hand written style type
- Imagery - petals - like the rose off beauty and the beast when the petals are falling off
- Prefer a pattern rather than a single image
- Mix of block colours and outlines

Possible names:
LS Creative - preferred uppercase but depends of type
Lauren Creative - if lowercase looks better

She's going to think about the name in more detail over the next few days.

Brief:
Produce a logo and branding for fashion student Lauren Simpson.

Background/Considerations:
The branding and logo should reflect Lauren's COP3 practical work on fairytales and femininity, however should also work as standalone branding for future collections and projects. It should be taken into consideration how the logo especially can be applied to different products and in both colour and black and white.

Deliverables:
Logo
Business cards
Branding collateral

Mandatory Requirements:
Design boards summarising the design process
Blog posts documenting the process

Deadline:
24th February (flexible)

My understanding of the brief:
For this brief I understand I should produce a logo and branding collateral for fashion student Lauren Simpson, fulfilling her requirements for a feminine branding inspired by her COP3 practical work on fairytales and femininity. Initially a logo and business cards will be produced but then these can be expanded to other branding collateral. The deadline is 24th of February however this is only a rough guide, the idea is as soon as possible.

Aims for the brief:
- Develop my knowledge of logos and branding
- Use pastel colours that I don't use so much in my own work
