OUGD601 COP: FINAL PRODUCT PHOTOGRAPHS

Taking more professional photographs using a DSLR camera and a lighting kit I was able to show off the objects in the best light possible, and to show them in context to show how they work and their different properties. The DSLR camera also allowed me to take some high quality close up photos which meant I could show the detail that has gone into these pieces a lot more clearly, so you can appreciate them more.

Phone case

In this close up you can see how the phone case was constructed and sewn together more clearly. You can also see that it was a fairly rough mock up as it was meant to show an idea rather than be a perfect finished piece.

Miniature blanket
This is a product that wasn't shown in the initial photographs or digital sketches sections as the other objects were more visually obviously interactive, and were a lot easier to draw as a product, as there was a lot more obvious detail which defined it's characteristics.
However, this is a blanket with holes in for children to put their heads through so they can wear it and wrap themselves in it. It has several heads in so children can play with it with their friends, to promote social development and team skills. The blanket features different coloured, patterned and textured shapes to teach children about such things, and to also provide it with a pattern, as children lean towards patterned or colourful objects.

Triangle shape.

Square striped shape.

Green circle fluffy shape.

The holes are demonstrated by the use of a soft toy.

Playing with the blanket is demonstrated by two soft toys poking their heads through the holes.

Pen top creature/finger puppet
Whilst photographing this object it occurred to me that it fit on my finger, and could therefore have multiple uses: be a pen topper but also a finger puppet. This provides children with alternatives on how to interact with it, and will therefore keep their engagement for longer as there are more possible alternate uses for it. The photographs also show how it can fit on different sizes of pen due to the stretchy quality of the fabric used to construct it.

Supermarket way finding system
The colours have printed off a lot more vibrant then what they appeared on screen, which goes to show the different of an outcome on screen and in print. This map could also be used as a hand out at supermarkets for children to use to navigate through the supermarket.

Vinyl sticker examples
To show the scale of the vinyl flooring and how it would look I cut out the foot prints using a vinyl cutter, ensuring that the feet shown were actual shoe sizes, and weren't way too small or larger for anybody to be able to compare their feet to.
On the final supermarket way finding only the feet were included as the way finding, even though the fruit and veg ideas were just as successful. This was because some sections such as fruit and veg and pasta would be quite easy to produce silhouettes for that were easily recognisable, however other sections would be harder to illustrate, such as frozen or deli. So to ensure consistency only the feet were used. However, as the fruit and veg were successful on their own, they were also cut out using vinyl to see how they would look. They were cut out in opposed style to the feet (background was vinyl fruit and veg was empty) as these could be used as landing platforms for when you reach a section, these signal the start or end of a section, to announce it almost. So because they would be stand alone pieces there would be no need for a transition of colour that would be required for more of a navigational way finding.
